LAY COUNSELING

If you need help, we are here to provide a warm, caring and confidential environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in order to get back on the road to feeling better about your situation and yourself. Anew Day offers services to anyone in our community in need of emotional support. If that’s you, our goal is to equip you with essential tools for handling life’s hardships.

We offer one-on-one counseling in an environment of acceptance and compassion, without judgement. Our volunteer lay-counselors have training and experience to help you with your struggles, including relationship conflict, addiction, grief, depression, etc. We counsel people aged thirteen and older. No one will be denied service based on inability to pay.

Our volunteer Lay Counselors are trained and supervised by a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Training for Lay Counselors is ongoing. Our counselors come from varied backgrounds with life experiences that span the spectrum of hurts and victories. They’ve “been there, done that”. Our counselors are dedicated and loving men and women who want to make a difference by helping others. Initial training is by a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and each counselor receives ongoing weekly supervision. Our Lay Counselors are not professionals, they are volunteers who have lived through challenges and understand the need for support during difficult seasons of life. We know the tragic statistics related to emotional and relational issues permeating our culture. We also know that with caring support, lives can truly be changed from seemingly hopeless and empty to purposeful, productive and satisfying lives.

Our Lay Counseling services are free of charge, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
